    In a tragic incident, six cops were martyred in a gun attack on a police mobile by terrorists in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

    As per the details, unidentified men attacked the police van in the jurisdiction of Dadiwala Police Station during a routine patrol for security near a fair.

    Police said that the martyred cops include an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and a driver.

    The Lakki Marwat district police officer said that a search operation has been started to trace the terrorists.

    President Dr. Arif Alvi has strongly denounced the terror attack on a police van in Lakki Marwat.

    Expressing grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the terror incident, he said the sacrifices rendered by the security personnel in the war on terrorism are unforgettable.

    The President said the nation is proud of its martyrs and it will always remember their sacrifices.

    President Arif Alvi said such cowardly acts cannot shake the nation's resolve against the menace of terrorism.

    Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the terrorists are the enemies of Pakistan and every possible step will be taken to safeguard the country.

    In a statement, prime minister strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a police van in Lakki Marwat.

    He paid tributes to the martyred six police personnel. He said the whole nation salutes the sons of the soil who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.

    He asked Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to immediately announce Shuhada package for the martyred police personnel.

    Commiserating with the bereaved family, the Prime Minister prayed for the departed souls.

    Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the police personnel in Lakki Marwat.

    In a statement on Wednesday, the Interior Minister sought report from Chief Secretary and IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of the incident.

    Taking notice of the matter, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah condemned the attack and offered his condolences to the martyrs' families.

    He said the deceased policemen have received the "high status of martyrdom".

    "The cowardly act of terrorists should be condemned as much as possible," the Sindh CM said.
