  • Govt is implementing comprehensive plan to turn state into educational city: AJK PM

    The Prime Minister said that adequate funds have been allocated for the promotion of education in the current financial years' budget

    The AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed has said that government is implementing on a comprehensive plan to turn the state into an educational city. He expressed these views with a delegation led by former Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly Abdur Rashid Abbasi in Muzaffarabad on Monday.

    The Prime Minister said that adequate funds have been allocated for the promotion of education in the current financial years' budget and special attention is being paid on setting up of Universities‚ Colleges and Professional Colleges in the state.

    Chaudhary Abdul Majid said new educational policy would be announced soon. He said all arrangements have been finalized for setting up of an Islamic University at Khari Sharif in Mirpur on the pattern of Jamai Al-Azhar‚ which will be inaugurated by President Asif Ali Zardari.

    The President said that present government established two medical colleges at Mirpur and Muzaffarabad while steps are underway for setting up the third medical college at Rawalakot in Poonch division.

    He said under the new educational policy all the appointments of the teachers would be made through Public Service Commission and a uniform policy for teachers is being finalized.
