A meeting of Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA) standing committee on water and power was held in Gilgit on Tuesday reviewed progress in power sector.
Chairperson Rani Attiqa Ghazanfar presided the meeting.
It was informed that three MW hydel power in Misghar Hunza has been completed at a cost of over 329 million rupees will be commissioned soon.
Standing committee deliberated on introduction of smart meters pilot project in Gilgit and termed it a positive step to save energy and recommended to expand it to other areas.
The meeting also emphasized for establishment of regional gird station to ensure use of surplus energy in GB.
