At least three people were killed and twelve were injured as a result of a blast inside a passenger van here on Thursday.
According to details, the ill-fated van was on its way to Haramosh from Gilgit that a blast occurred in it near Alam Bridge. As a consequence, three people were killed and seven were injured.
Rescue teams immediately rushed to the spot as soon as the blast was reported and shifted the injured to District Head Quarters (DHQ) Hospital, while the dead bodies were taken into custody by the police.
Medico-legal sources told that the blast killed three people including the driver.
Among the seven injured passengers there were three women and a minor; however all of them were reported to be out of danger.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Syed Mehdi Shah ordered to impose an emergency at the hospitals and sought an inquiry report of the incident from the Home Secretary and the IG Police.
