    At the United Nations, Pakistan has underscored the need for keeping UN Peacebuilding Commission financially strong to meet the reconstruction needs of post-conflict countries.

    Speaking at UN General Assembly, Pakistan's permanent representative to United Nations Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi said the commission has contributed significantly to peace building efforts undertaken by countries emerging from conflict.

    She said Pakistan fully appreciates the importance of peace to sustain the gains achieved by peacekeeping missions.
