  • No space in law to appoint IMF employee as governor SBP: Bilawal

    Chairman Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the governor state bank cannot be removed forcefully as a manner the government removed him.

    Talking to media in Parliament Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that it is a serious issue that the government removed finance minister, chairman FBR and governor state bank all of sudden adding that the government lacked leadership capabilities.

    The Chairman PPP said that it seems from the government move that it is compromising on the state sovereignty and now the IMF will decide who will be finance minister, chairman FBR and governor state bank adding that in this way the system will not function.

    He claimed that the PPP government back in 2008 got empty exchequer from the Musharraf regime adding that his party took many initiatives against the IMF wish including job opportunities.

    Young leader said that existing government accepting every condition of the world financial body adding that the party will raise the issue in Parliament and outside of it.

    He said that the governor state bank cannot be removed forcefully in this way adding that there is no space in law to appoint an IMF employee as the governor SBP.

    Bilawal asked the government on which law it appointed new SBP governor.
