  • PM Khan to leave for two-day visit to Iran today

    Prime Minister Imran Khan will leave for a two-day official visit to Iran on Sunday to further strengthen bilateral ties in diverse fields.

    The premier will visit the country from April 21-22 on the invitation of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. This will be the premier's first visit to Iran since assuming office.

    During the visit, PM Imran will call on Iranian Supreme Leader Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei and will also hold detailed consultations with President Rouhani.

    He will also meet members of the Iranian and Pakistani business community in Iran.

    A high-level delegation will accompany the prime minister.

    Pakistan’s relations with Iran are marked by close historic and cultural linkages and strong people to people exchanges. Both countries are also members of the Economic Cooperation Organisation and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
