The special US envoy to Afghanistan reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad and Pakistan leadership agreed to work continue to establish peace in Afghanistan as it is in the best interest of Pakistan, US embassy said in its declaration.
According to the declaration, Khalilzad visit lasted six days as during his visit he had met with the civil and military leadership of Pakistan including army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
“The US thanked Pakistan for facilitating Taliban leaders to travel through its soil and also expressing hope Pakistan will continue to play its role in peace process,” The declaration said.
