  • Prominent Faces From Opposition To Meet Saudi Crown Prince Today

    A parliamentary delegation comprising of numerous members of the opposition parties will be holding a meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman in the Federal capital today (Monday).

    The delegation will be jointly headed by Speaker of Senate Sajid Sanjrani and Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser.

    Prominent members of opposition parties who will be meeting the Crown Prince include PPP’s Senator Sherry Rehman, PML-N’s Raja Zafar ul Haq and Senator Mushahid Ullah Khan.

    Senator Shibli Faraz, Senator Azam Swati and Senator Aurangzeb are also part of the delegation.

    Other than that, NA Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, MNA Malik Aamir Dogar and State Minister Ali Muhammad Khan will be part of the delegation constituted from the National Assembly.

    No member from the opposition has been made part of the NA delegation.

    Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia was accorded a warm welcome on Sunday evening upon his arrival in Islamabad on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.

    Prime Minister Imran Khan, his cabinet members and services chiefs received the Saudi Crown prince and his high powered delegation at Nur Khan Airbase.

    Later, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman called on Premier Imran Khan where various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) regarding cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in diverse sectors were signed.

    The sectors include cooperation in the production of electricity, establishment of refinery petrochemical plant, promotion of sports and technical assistance in the standardization sector.

    Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman also stated that the first phase of investment was completed in Pakistan, which is worth $20 billion.

    While addressing a ceremony at the PM House to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) between the two countries, the prince said that the investment will prove fruitful for both Pakistan and the Kingdom.

    “Pakistani leadership is impressive and the country’s future seems quite bright,” said the crown prince.

    Prince Salman said that Pakistan is a very important country for Saudi Arabia and he is very pleased to visit the country. He said that the kingdom will invest further in the country.
