    Chairman Task Force on Housing Zaigham Rizvi has reiterated government's commitment for construction of five million houses for poor segments of society in the country.

    Addressing a function in Peshawar today (Wednesday), he said two million houses will be constructed in rural areas of the country.

    He said United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arab, Malaysia and Qatar have expressed keen interest for investment in the Prime Minister Housing Scheme.

    He said World Bank has also agreed to provide technical support for the scheme.

    Zaigham Rizvi said various sites for construction of these houses have been identified across the country.

    The Chairman said work on preparing legal framework of these houses is in progress.

    He said task forces for the Housing Scheme are also being constituted at provincial level.
