Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday sensationally backflipped on comments he made on a forward bloc in the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PMLQ) and publicly apologised after Chaudhry Moonis Elahi threatened to end the party’s alliance with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Reportedly, the PMLQ leadership has responded vigorously to the information minister’s comments by saying that their alliance could end over such remarks”.
The member of the National Assembly (MNA) Elahi also urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to ask his party’s members to observe discipline.
Later, Elahi said that Fawad had contacted him and offered an apology by saying that it was a slip of the tongue.
