Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said it was imperative for any country aiming progress to have quality education and an honest leadership.

Speaking at a gathering in Lahore, the CJP remarked that an honest leader takes the country forward and adds to development of the nation.

Mr. Nisar expressed grave concern over lack of education among children in Pakistan.

He said he was astonished to discover a few schools where landlords had kept their cattle.

He stated no work was supreme than serving the humanity.

He was of the view that “our first priority should be education.”

“I am extremely displeased with below-par literacy rate in the country,” he said.

He said the education sector was the most neglected, “and I have personally seen this reality after visiting several areas of the country.”

The CJP said another important aspect of the nation’s development was dispensation of justice.

He asserted that the society couldn’t sustain a balance if the judiciary failed to provide justice to the masses.

The chief justice said: “We do not have an institution for dispensation of justice as it should have been in an Islamic country.”

The law provided to us by the English rulers doesn’t fit our society and the religion.
