Finance Minister Asad Umar Tuesday said there was a vacuum of $12 billion in Pakistan's balance of payments, for which $6 billion were provided by Saudi Arabia and the rest came from China.

Umar said so while addressing a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi. He said that now there was no balance-of-payment crisis in the country.

The finance minister said that a high-level delegation will be visiting China on November 9. "The delegation, which will also include the State Bank governor, will finalise features relating to balance of payments in China."

Umar lamented public outcry over poor economy for the past two months, noting that they had taken several measures for [increasing] exports of the country.

He said their focus was on long-term stability in the country.
