    Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor paid tribute to the martyrs of the Kashmiri struggle as the occupied valley observes Youm-e-Shuhada Jammu today.

    “Tribute to Kashmiri martyrs of 6 Nov 1947 & till date on KashmirMartyrsDay. Their great sacrifices shall accrue result IA,” Major General Ghafoor tweeted.

    “Continued atrocities by Indian Occupation forces can never suppress just political struggle for their legitimate right of self determination. #KashmirBlackDay,” he wrote.

    Hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris were massacred by the forces of Maharaja Hari Singh, Indian army and Hindu extremists in different parts of Jammu region while they were migrating to Pakistan during the first week of November in 1947.

    Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and world over are observing Youm-e-Shuhada Jammu to pay tribute to the martyrs, with a renewed pledge to accomplish their mission for their UN-acknowledged right to self-determination.

    The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for integrity and prosperity of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and for early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

    In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, rallies and protest gatherings are being held in all small and big cities. The main function of the occasion is being held in the state capital Muzaffarabad under the auspices of Kashmir Liberation Cell. Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan will be the chief guest at the event.
