Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday stated that without restoring peace in Pakistan there would be no peace in the world and region.

Ghafoor made these remarks in his address to participants of Yorkshire University.

“Al-Qaeda [a terrorist multi-national organization would not have been defeated without military and technical assistance from Pakistan. The world should acknowledge Pakistan’s unrivalled sacrifices in WoT”, Gen Ghafoor was quoted as saying.

ISPR DG added that the dream of restoring lasting peace in region and world can’t be achieved without the cooperation of Islamabad. He stated, “Washington must stay in Afghanistan till situation turns normal”.

Major General Ghafoor continued, “The world should be thankful to Pakistan for eliminating terrorism.”

Regarding Afghanistan, the DG ISPR said, “Pakistan desires that the United States remains in Afghanistan till peace is established there.”

“Peace in Afghanistan and Pakistan is connected to each other,” he added.

Shedding light on Pak Army’s anti-militant drive, Gen Ghafoor professed that terror activities have plummeted to record low across the country while peace has been completely restored.

Speaking about the attack on education activist Malala Yousafzai, the DG ISPR said, “She was attacked by terrorists who opposed education for women.”

“Following Pakistan Army’s operations, terrorist attacks have stopped,” he further said.

The DG ISPR told Pakistani students to be proud of their country for the contributions it has made to the world.
