    The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has confiscated vital record of various bus project including Metro Bus case against former Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Cheema in Ashiana Iqbal mega corruption case.

    According to sources, anti-graft watchdog acquired the record of projects were running under the former DG LDA Ahad Cheema and for the purpose NAB got the cooperation of Mass Transit Authority.

    Sources said that metro bus service project was completed during Ahad Cheema tenure and he has also played important role in orange line train project.Chairman NAB has also ordered an inquiry into Orange Line project scam.

    On February 22, 2018, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested former head of the Lahore Development Authority Ahad Khan Cheema to question him about his alleged involvement in Lahore’s Ashiyana-i-Iqbal Housing Society scam, causing quite a stir in the Punjab chief minister’s camp.

    Mr Cheema, who currently heads two power companies in Punjab, was arrested from his Gulberg office after he failed to comply with the NAB’s summons. His arrest comes on the heels of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s and Secretary to the Prime Minister Fawad Hassan Fawad’s appearance before NAB. Mr Fawad is considered to be close to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.Wednesday’s arrest of an officer considered close to the chief minister has stoked all kinds of rumours about a possible storm brewing for the younger Sharif, as Mr Cheema may become an approver in this investigation.

    During the course of the investigation, NAB recovered Rs14.5 million in cash stashed by Ahad Cheema in a car showroom at Jail Road Lahore. During the raid, the Bureau also seized a Land Cruiser worth Rs11 million, owned by Ahad Cheema from the showroom. He is in jail currently on completion of his 90 days physical remand.
