    Azerbaijan Ambassador Ali Fikrat Oglu Alizada paid a courtesy call on Caretaker Prime Minister Nasir-ul-Mulk in Islamabad today.

    Speaking on the occasion, the caretaker prime minister said Pakistan and Azerbaijan traditionally enjoy close, cordial relations marked by trust and understanding. He said bilateral collaboration in different sectors has been growing steadily.

    Nasir-ul-Mulk appreciated Azerbaijan’s continued support on Kashmir dispute and appreciated Azerbaijan’s invaluable role in the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir.

    He reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

    The Prime Minister commended the Azerbaijan’s initiative of hosting the first trilateral meeting between Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Pakistan and Azerbaijan and conveyed that Pakistan is willing to host the second trilateral meeting.

    The Prime Minister expressed an aspiration that both countries should set the goal of expanding cooperation in trade, investment, energy and defence spheres.

    The Ambassador said Azerbaijan wants to boost economic relations with Pakistan. He appreciated Pakistan’s support for Azerbaijan’s position on Nagorno-Karabakh.
