    Renowned Urdu satire and humour writer Mushtaq Ahmad Yusufi has died here in Karachi on Wednesday at the age of 94 years after prolonged ailment.

    Mushtaq Ahmad was born in a political family in Jaipur, Tajastan on 4th Sep, 1927, while his father was chairman of Jaipur municipality and later on became speaker of Jaipur legislative assembly.

    After early education from Rajputana, earned B.A from Agra University while M.A Philosophy and LLB from Ali Garh Muslim University.

    However, he had to shift Karachi with his parents after separation of India; where he served Urdu literature throughout his life.

    He joined Muslim Commercial Bank (MCB) in 1950, worked in Allied Bank in 1965 as managing director; and in the end he had become the president of United Bank in 1974. Nevertheless, he became the chairman of Pakistan Banking council in 1977. For his distinguished work in banking he was awarded Quid-e-Azam Memorial Medal.
