    The federal government is likely to announce five holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr that will commence from June 14, media reports said on Thursday.

    According to a summary prepared by the Interior Ministry which is yet to be approved, Eid holidays will be observed from June 14 (Thursday) to June 18 (Monday) in the country.

    Last year, the government had announced only three holidays for the Eid-ul-Fitr.

    On Wednesday, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that there are visible chances of the Eid moon being sighted on June 15, Friday.

    According to the Met Office, there are fewer chances of the moon being sighted on June 14 (Thursday) with a chance of Eid-ul -Fitr being celebrated on June 16 (Saturday) across Pakistan.
