Minutes after his arrival at the Data Darbar shrine, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan cancelled his planned political engagements in Lahore s Bhati Gate, Mochi Gate, Sherawala Gate areas and departed for Islamabad.

It is believed that Khan hads cancelled his politicial engagemnts and departed for Islamabad to get what he said a big wicket.

Khan was to address party workers in Lahore and mobilize them for the PTI’s upcoming mass gathering in the city on April 29 at Greater Iqbal Park. He was also due to inspect preparations underway for the PTI’s mass gathering in Lahore.

Earlier in the day, the PTI chief along with other party leaders paid a visit to the shrine of Hazrat Data Gunj Bukhsh (RA) and offered prayers for the sovereignty of the country.

Khan commuted to the Lahore airport via Ring Road. The latest development has cast doubt over Imran s participation in the upcoming mass gathering in Lahore. There were no comments from PTI leaders on the lastest development. Also the party s official Twitter page was silent about Imran s departure to Islamabad.

The decision came after at least five policemen martyred in multiple suicide bombings in Quetta and Mian Gundi areas on Tuesday.

However, talking to journalists before leaving for the capital, the PTI chief hinted at PTI s joining of a political bigwing. "A tusnami is ready to hit the party while another one is ready to hit the masses," he siad while referreing to the PTI s upcoming mass gathering in Lahore.

When asked if former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was going to join the PTI, Khan opted to offer no comments.

Also two Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders Azeem ud Din Lakhwi and Hashim Dogar jumped ships on Tuesday and joined the PTI s bandwagon. Another veteran politician from Bahawalpur Malik Usman Channar also defected to the PTI.
