    The General Manager of National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) Muzaffar Ali removed from his post after finding him indulged in misuse of authority.

    After receiving complain against GM Muzaffar Ali shah, Chairman NADRA has constituted three-member committee to probe issue.Committee has conducted the investigation from him and other persons involved in as after the probe committee found him guilty and reluctant to reply the questions raised by the committee , on which chairman NADRA removed him from GM post.

    Shah had already been posted as officer on special duty (OSD) as an inquiry, begun in August 2017, over charges of sexual harassment and misuse of authority was underway against him.

    Shah was elevated from the post of director general to deputy chairman in 2016 in order to streamline the affairs of the authority when it faced criticism for issuing computerised national identity cards (CNICs) to Afghan nationals, including former Taliban chief Mullah Mansoor, as well as a number of financial scams.

    On November 28, 2017, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested four National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) employees and three agents over charges of corruption and facilitating the issuance of CNICs to foreign nationals.

    Acting on complaints against NADRA officers and members of the staff, FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle arrested the accused from the authority’s Mega Centre in Karachi’s DHA.
