    Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Military Police (MP) Training Centre in Dera Ismail (DI) Khan on Wednesday and installed Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Hyder as Colonel Commandant of Corps of Military Police.

    Media cell of the military reported that the army chief visited MP training centre, Frontier Corps (FC) South and Defence Services Guard Centre today.

    During multiple briefings, the army chief was told about operational preparedness of the troops and progress made in security operations .

    COAS Bajwa was also briefed on aspects of training and core administration to better the efficiency of the Frontier Corps.

    During his visit to the MP centre, General Bajwa installed Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Hyder, Adjutant General of Pakistan Army as Colonel Commandant of Corps of Military Police.

     

    Earlier, Gen Bajwa attended the funeral prayers Major Ishaq who was martyred during an operation in Dera Ismail Khan. He paid rich tribute to the martyred officer and his family for their supreme sacrifice.

    Major Ishaq was martyred during the search operation conducted on a tip-off about presence of terrorists in a hide out. The martyred officer hails from Khushab and left behind a widow and one-year-old son.

    “The price we are paying in love for Our Motherland. Your sacrifices shall neither go in vain nor shall these be compromised,” said a statement by the Inter Services Public Relations on his martyrdom.
