Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua says Pakistan will continue to play its constructive role in achieving the target of sustainable peace in Afghanistan.
She made these remarks at a meeting with United States Under-Secretary of State Tom Shannon in New York.
They also discussed matters related to bilateral relations and overall peace and security in the region.
Foreign Secretary also met Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister Hekmat Karzai on the sidelines of the UNGA session in New York and discussed measures for achieving common objective of peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Foreign Secretary reaffirmed Pakistan's desire for a politically negotiated settlement under an Afghan-owned and Afghan-led peace process.
Hekmat Karzai also reiterated Afghan government commitment to strengthen relations with Pakistan.
