Senior representatives of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Daniyal Aziz and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry among others criticised the opposition over Panamagate probe on Saturday in a press conference.

In his speech, Aziz said that ministers were ‘tried on media’ and that he would humbly request the top court to look into JIT findings.

He alleged Wajid Zia, head of the JIT of hiring his cousin’s firm in England because he was ‘giving a discount’.

He claimed that the government of Sindh has removed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from the province whereas the federally ruling party, he said, was stressed to resign on ‘most likely’ terms.

Aziz claimed that a lot of the people who began giving their two cents after the report was made public did not go through it to know what it had actually stated.

He pointed out that the report uses the words ‘most likely’ and ‘ likely’ when it comes to the premier.

Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that JIT was formed to probe London flats only and claimed that the report did not mention money laundering and tax evasion.

He asserted that the committee sure brought evidence from foreign authorities but could not prove even a hint of corruption within the country.

Chaudhry said that the probe team looked into businesses of Sharif family and targeted father of the Prime Minister (PM). He challenged the JIT to bring forth any allegation over corruption or embezzlement in government’s funds.
