Former interior minister Rehman Malik has said Monday that Pakistan People’s Party is standing by its resignation demand of the Prime Minister.

While talking to the media outside Zardari House in the federal capital, Malik said that there would be no compromise over probe of Panama leaks against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family.

He said that co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had demanded premier’s resignation first of all the political parties right after Panama Papers published the leaks. Notable and influential politicians are puzzled due to Bilawal’s strong rallies and party’s support across the country.

It is not the first time that late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s party is targeted for political revenge, he said adding that two of the party’ former premiers are still fighting cases in courts.

Ever since Panama leaks saw light of the day in April, country’s political machinery has not been seen calm for once.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter and sons were named in the leaks of Mossack Fonseca for owning offshore companies. However, International Consortium of Journalists who studied the leaked documents disclaims any wrongdoing at part of any of the named personality.

The leaks merely talk about the people, with relevant documents, who established offshore companies, But the idea behind owning a shell company is generally seen as an attempt to evade taxes and stash wealth abroad.

Icelandic premier resigned in the row while British Prime Minister David Cameron gave his explanation and details of assets before the parliamentarians.

Opposition parties mainly Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have been demanding fair audit of wealth, property, businesses and industries owned by the Nawaz Sharif, the Prime Minister ever since the leaks surfaced.
