    At least forty-four people have been killed in rain related incidents in various parts of the country.

    At least thirty-seven people have been killed in rain related incidents in Multan‚ Rajanpur‚ Kashmore‚ Shikarpur‚ Sahiwal and Swabi. Seven persons were kille and twenty injured in roof collapse and wall demolishing incidents during heavy rain in Sahiwal district. In Multan and Rajanpur eleven people were killed in such incidents. Heavy rains have caused a breach in Dera Ghazi Khan canal and water has entered western parts of the city. An official of the district administration told Radio Pakistan Multan correspondent that water entered in some localities situated near the railway track. The army has been called in for rescue operation in Dera Ghazi Khan. Nine people of a family have been killed when roof of their house caved in at a refugee camp in Swabi. Emergency has been declared in Kashmore-Kand Kot districts cope with situation arising out of on-going rain. At least ten people have died and some other injured in rain related incident in Kashmore-Kandkot and Shikarpur districts. Deputy Commissioner Kashmore-Kand Kot told that continuing rains have caused large scale damages to the infrastructure and properties of the people. He said efforts are underway to drain out the standing rain water. Meanwhile‚ Larakana‚ Shikar Pur and Qamber districts have also received heavy to moderate rains and undated low lying areas. The rain has also caused damages to the 5000 years old Archeological site of Mohanjodaro. Heavy rains have caused a breach in Dera Ghazi Khan canal and water has entered western parts of the city. An official of the district administration told that water entered in some localities situated near the railway track. District administration has declared state of emergency in the city and started relief activities. Sixteen relief camps have been set up‚ in which people are being shifted. DCO D.G.Khan says all educational institutions are closed due to heavy rain in the city. Flood water also entered Rajanpur city as breach occurred in Mubarrak Canal. Flood water has entered shops and houses in Sukkur. In Khairpur‚ low lying areas have inundated due to heavy rain. Nine people of a family have been killed when roof of their house caved in at a refugee camp in Swabi. Emergency has been declared in Kashmore-Kand Kot districts to cope with the situation arising out of on-going rain. Radio Pakistan's Larkana cprrespondent reports at least ten people have died and some other injured in rain related incident in Kashmore-Kandkot and Shikarpur districts.
