  • PPP & PML(N) discuss Accountability Law

    Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League (N) held talks in Islamabad today to evolve consensus on the accountability law.

    Syed Khurshid Shah and Naveed Qamar represented PPP while while Ishaq Dar and Khawaja Asif represented Pakistan Muslim League (N) in the talks. The PPP leaders presented before the PML (N) their proposed version of the accountability law. Later talking to the media persons‚ Minister for Religious Affairs said the government wants to evolve consensus on the proposed accountability bill. Today's meeting was part of taking all the political parties on board on the matter. Opposition leader in the Senate and PML (N) leader Ishaq Dar the meeting only focussed its discussion on the accountability law and no other issue including the next caretaker set up and the commission on establishment of new provinces in Punjab came under discussion. He said discussion was held on the proposed accountability bill which will also be shared with the senior leadership of Pakistan Muslim League (N) to take their inputs. He said we want to have a fair and robust accountability law to eliminate the draconian law introduced by a dictator.
