    The Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMA) of Punjab and Balochistan have issued alerts for new spells of monsoon rains expected to impact both provinces in the coming days.

    Punjab

    The PDMA Punjab has announced that a fresh spell of monsoon rains will begin on the evening of August 14 and is expected to continue until August 18. According to a PDMA spokesperson, these rains will likely affect several regions across Punjab, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

    Wind and thunder-showers are also predicted in south Punjab during this period. Additionally, the spokesperson mentioned that Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, and Gujrat divisions are expected to experience rainfall.

    Balochistan

    Meanwhile, the Met Department has forecasted that a new spell of rains will enter the province on August 15 and continue until August 18. The department has indicated a strong likelihood of heavy rainfall in various districts, including Khuzdar, Qalat, Sorab, Awaran, Mastung, Naseerabad, and Jafarabad.

    Other areas expected to receive rain include Sohbatpur, Jhal Magsi, Kachhi, Sibbi, Panjgur, Kohlu, Musakhel, Barkhan, Loralai, Harnai, Zhob, as well as the coastal regions of Ziarat, Shirani, and Makran.

    The PDMA Balochistan has also issued a warning about the potential risk of flooding in rivers due to the heavy rains. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during this period and to stay vigilant for any updates or emergency instructions.
