Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says the government is determined to upgrade engineering universities to make them global brands.
He was addressing a ceremony to mark 'World Engineering Day' organised by Institute of Engineers Pakistan at Expo Centre Lahore.
The Minister said engineering fraternity has main role in boosting industrial productivity which is directly linked with a country's sustainable development.
He asked the engineering fraternity to play their role in enhancing exports and become a part of economic development.
Ahsan Iqbal said the government is making sincere efforts to revive the economy by taking timely administrative measures.
He said the PML-N has put aside its political interests and taken responsibility of the government as a challenge for the sake of Pakistan.
