    Polling is under way for the by-election on Balochistan Assembly seat PB-47, Kech-III.

    Polling began at 8am and will continue till 5pm.

    The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has declared all 60 polling stations extremely sensitive and levies force and Frontier Corps personnel have been deployed.

    A public holiday has also been declared in Kech district by the provincial government owing to the by-election.

    During the 2018 general election, Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) Abdul Rauf Rind had emerged as the successful candidate on PB-47. However, ECP had declared the election null and void as Rind was a dual national.
