Independent candidate Masood Ali Khan and Balochistan Awami Party's Sardar Israr Tareen retained their respective seats in by-elections held on Thursday, according to unofficial and unconfirmed results.

Sources have informed that vote count has completed on all polling stations.

Khan defeated BAP's candidate Muhammad Nasir in a closely observed contest in PB-5 (Dikki).

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) re-scheduled polls on the constituencies after receiving substantive evidence of rigging on the seats in the July 25 polls.

Khan, earlier, won the seat in the general polls by securing 11,0415 votes as an independent candidate against BAP's Sardar Dur Muhammad Nasar, who bagged 6,881 votes.

Meanwhile, the ECP had called for a re-count on as many as 30 polling stations of the NA-258.

The ruling party's candidate safely retained his national assembly seat. According to records, 313,892 voters were registered in the constituency. With 135,090 women voters.

Candidates from the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal’s (MMA), Awami National Party’s (ANP), Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz contested on both the seats.
