Dr. Saeed Ahmed, an ophthalmologist, who was abducted a couple of months ago, has been recovered this morning.
It may be mentioned here that doctors’ strike in the province against his abduction, entered 42nd day today. Dr. Saeed Ahmed was kidnapped on October 16 from Sariab Road area of the city.
The provincial government, meantime moving against the striking doctors, suspended them from services, held back their salaries and expelled them from official residences. The government also published advertisements in newspapers for the recruitment of new doctors.
The on-strike doctors demanded the government to apologize over its attitude and conduct judicial inquiry into the police manhandling of the doctors’ rally.
