    Financial bids of insurance companies were opened in the presence of media in Islamabad today for provision of Sehat Cards to 14 million families across Pakistan.

    Federal Minister for National Health Services and Regulation Aamir Mehmood Kiyani was also present at the bid opening ceremony.

    Through these cards families living below poverty line of 2 dollars per day will be provided financial protection against extraordinary healthcare expenditures.

    The Sehat Card provides its enrolled beneficiaries access to free quality indoor health care services, worth 720,000 rupees, from public and private hospitals of their choice across the country.

    The services also include hearth surgeries, stents, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, dialysis, maternity and other medical and surgical services.

    Minister for National Health Services Aamir Mehmood Kiani has said the scope of health card scheme has been expanded on the directions of the Prime Minister in order to provide better healthcare services to the poor segments of the society.

    He was addressing a ceremony in connection with the opening of the financial bids of health card scheme in Islamabad today (Saturday).

    The Minister said under this scheme, indoor services will also be ensured both at the public and private sector hospitals.

    He said the card holders will be able to get medical treatment up to the tune of seven hundred and twenty thousand rupees.

    Speaking on the occasion, the Health Minister vowed to make all out efforts to provide the best possible healthcare facilities to the poor as envisioned by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
