    Punjab Nahi Jaungi has become the first Pakistani movie to collect over Rs 50 crores from box office worldwide.

    With this record, it has also been named the highest grossing Pakistani movie yet. The previous record for highest collection was held by Vasay Chaudhry-directed Jawani Phir Nahi Ani.

    Humayun Saeed‏ took to Twitter to celebrate the news and thanked his fans for making this happen. “So humbled by the continuous love you have shown to #PunjabNahiJaungi. Thank you for making it the highest grossing Pakistani film ever! Masha Allah,” he said.

     

    Punjab Nahi Jaungi actress who starred opposite Humayun Saeed‏, Mehwish Hayat, called it “another Landmark” and said “Thankyouuuuu for loving my film #PunjabNahiJaungi sooo much and making it the first Pakistani movie to cross 50 crores mark worldwide” in her recent tweet.

     

    The movie was released in September, last year. The comedy movie was directed by Nadeem Beyg. Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat and Urwa Hocane played lead roles in the film.
