    Peepli Live actor Sitaram Panchal breathed his last at the age of 54 on Thursday while battling cancer.

    He was diagnosed with lungs and kidney cancer in 2014 and continued taking medical treatment for it. He was rushed to hospital on Thursday morning as he struggled to breathe. Earlier, he had made an appeal to his friends and fans to help him in the financial crisis. He also took to social media for his cause.

    Panchal had taken to social media several times in order to ask NGOs, friends, fans and relatives for help.

    The critically acclaimed actor had played roles in renowned movies like Paan Singh Tomar, Jolly LLB 2, Slumdog Millionaire, The Legend Of Bhagat Singh and more. He made his debut in 1994 by starring in Bandit Queen.

    Indian reports suggest that Cine & TV Artistes Association and Haryana government had offered help to Panchal but he was reluctant to take allopathic treatment.
