  • ‘Stop fooling people’: Adnan Siddiqui’s Punjab promo faces online outrage

Netizens have taken aim at Welcome to Punjab, slamming it as a “flop” despite veteran actor Adnan Siddiqui’s spirited appeal for audiences to head to cinemas.

The celebrated star urged fans on social media to back the family entertainer, but many online users weren’t convinced, ridiculing both the film and its over-the-top promotion.

Even with Siddiqui’s rallying call, critics dubbed the project a “made-to-fail” venture, mocking its execution.

Known for his long-standing contributions to TV and film, Siddiqui turned to his digital platforms to invite followers to theatres for Welcome to Punjab.

“It’s time to head to the cinemas! Welcome To Punjab is now playing nationwide! Adnan Siddiqui has sent out the invitation; it’s time for you to answer the call,” read a promotional post amplified by Lollywood Galaxy.

But instead of sparking excitement, the campaign drew sarcastic pushback. One user sneered: “This feels like a 90’s C-grade movie.”

Another quipped: “So much money, so much effort, so much time—on a film everyone knew would flop. Why?”

Others even mocked the film’s depiction of Punjab, questioning its accuracy. “First India gave Lahore a sea, now this movie’s Punjab has mountains and snow,” one commentator joked.
Another critic suggested the movie was being overhyped and not worth the ticket: “Better watch it with your own family, and stop trying to fool the public.”

While many dismissed the film outright, others pointed out the irony in audience preferences.

One netizen remarked: “At least those people should definitely go and watch it who had a problem saying ‘Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed are too old now to be hero and heroine’. So now go and watch.”

Another jab added: “The ones who made it should themselves go with their families and witness this so-called legendary performance.”

Previously, the movie's romantic song became the subject of savage sarcasm online.

Social media users felt Aadi Khan looked too young to pull off the romantic vibes convincingly.

One user sarcastically compared the young cast to college kids bunking classes for 'extracurricular activities'.

The cringe factor was strong enough to inspire harsh verdicts like, “Aadi is giving more girlish vibe than the girl herself.”

Some viewers lashed out at Galaxylollywood for calling the song “soulful,” while others mocked the cheesy promo lines.

The roast extended beyond just the actors. Musical comparisons were not kind either.
