Although Pakistani drama viewership decreased after India imposed a ban on the channels but popular serials including Mann Mast Malang, Sher, Dayan, and Parwarish maintained significant viewership in India.
India had blocked access to several prominent Pakistani entertainment channels on YouTube in the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam incident.
These Pakistani entertainment channels, known for their gripping serials, cultural resonance, and strong fan bases, had amassed millions of viewers in India over the years.
Fans on social media have expressed disappointment, with many calling the ban an unnecessary politicization of art and culture.
The accounts of several popular Pakistani actors and content creators were also restricted in India.
However, lately, the Indian Government’s sudden action of removing the ban on Pakistani entertainment channels has been receiving widespread acclaim, particularly Indian viewers are quite pleased about it, considering the decision as the best move towards improving the relationship between the two countries.
