    The newly-appointed Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Syed Shabbar Zaidi has barred officials from freezing bank accounts on any company, person without his permission.

    Shabbar Zaidi, who formally took charge today as FBR chairman has declared his approval necessary before freezing any account.

    The FBR chairman went on to say that the company officials would be informed 24-hours before freezing the account.

    Earlier, addressing a press conference Zaidi expressed that he will try to bring those persons in tax net that are currently giving zero tax to the government. He said taxpayers will not be given trouble.

    On Thursday, Establishment division had issued notification regarding appointment of Chairman Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi.
