    According to ministry of petroleum report submitted in National Assembly, the federal government is charging hefty surcharge on petroleum products.

    According to the report, the ex-refinery price of petroleum products is Rs 50.27 while the government is charging Rs 84.51 from the customers, thereby taking Rs. 34.24 as surcharge.

    Similarly, the government is charging Rs. 95.83 on diesel while the ex-refinery.

    Earlier this month, the government increased petrol price by Rs 2.98 per liter. The revised price of petrol now stands at Rs 84.51 per liter while that of high-speed diesel stands at 95.83 per liter with an upward revision of Rs 5.92 per liter.

    Price of kerosene oil was raised by Rs 5.94 to Rs 70.26 per liter and light-speed diesel up by Rs 5.93 per liter to Rs 64.30 per litre.
