  • President urges Austrian business community to invest in Pakistan

    President Asif Ali Zardari was talking to a delegation of Austria's Industrial Oil and Gas Company OMV in Karachi.

    President Asif Ali Zardari has urged Austrian businessmen for making greater investments in Pakistan and to take advantage of investors' friendly policies of the government.

    He was talking to a delegation of OMV‚ Austria's industrial Oil and Gas Company headed by CEO of the conglomerate Jaap Huijskes which called on him in Karachi.

    The President said that as energy deficient country endowed with vast untapped oil and gas resources‚ Pakistan offered great opportunities to entrepreneurs and investors.

    He said investment is secure in Pakistan and legislative protection had been given to investment to enhance comfort and confidence of businessmen.

    The President also invited OMV to consider entering into joint ventures with public sector organizations like OGDCL and PPL in their efforts to make Pakistan self-sufficient in oil.

    Jaap Huijskes while briefing the President about his company's business ventures in Pakistan since 1990 in oil and gas exploration‚ evinced keen interest in further extending its operations in Pakistan to mutual benefit.
