    The Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has given approval for the raise of petrol prices by Rs 2 per liter that will come into effect from tonight after 12:00 am for a month.

    According to notification issued by the finance ministry government has soared the prices of Petrol, High Speed Diesel and Light Diesel by Rs 2 per litter as the reshuffle or prices will be implemented from tonight. The Kerosene oil price has been jumped by Rs 4 per liter.

    The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday sent a summary to the petroleum ministry recommending an increase in prices of petrol by Rs 2.36 per litre and diesel by Rs2.20 effective October 1.

    The authority has recommended an increase of Rs 19.33 per liter in kerosene oil prices.

    Last month, the government revised prices of petroleum products, increasing the price of petrol by Rs2 per litre.

    Prices for high-speed diesel, kerosene oil and light-speed diesel remain unchanged.
