  • Tillerson expresses disappointment over ballistic missile test of N. Korea

North Korea may be acting out because of growing pressure on the country over its nuclear missile tests, said Secretary of US State, Rex Tillerson.

“The ongoing testing is disturbing, we ask that they cease that,” Tillerson said. But it’s still “early in the game of putting the pressure on them, they may be acting out to this pressure which I believe they are beginning to feel.”

Tillerson was responding to a question about North Korea’s latest missile test announced yesterday.

The launch came a week after North Korea said it tested a new type of rocket with greater range. The U.S. Navy then moved a second aircraft carrier to the Korean Peninsula to take part in training exercises amid a time of rising tensions over North Korea’s missile tests.

The United Nations Security Council condemned Pyongyang after its missile launch last week and stressed that it should not conduct any further tests and commit to denuclearisation.
