The social networking site Facebooks profits have hit one billion dollars in the first three months of the year as the social media giant closes in on 2 billion users, according to its latest results.
On Wednesday, the social network reported hitting 1.94 billion monthly users as of the end of the March quarter. That s up from 1.86 billion in the previous quarter and 1.65 billion in the same quarter a year earlier.
According to details, the number of users who login every month increased by 80million to 1.94 billion which is almost quarter of the world’s population.
Facebook, founded 13 years ago, is expected to hit 2bn users in the coming weeks. The company’s figures showed that as well as more people signing up, they are also using the social network more often, with two thirds of its users now log in once a day.
Moreover, WhatsApp and Messenger each have more than one billion users and Instagram now has more than 700 million users.
