  • CE-EFI: Peshawar students develop a car which covers 180km per liter fuel

Three Pakistani students from Sarhad University, Peshawar have designed a special tiny car which can cover 180km in 1 liter fuel.

The car is highly efficient as it runs on cutting-edge electronic fuel injection system used in cars and motorcycles. Fuel injection is the introduction of fuel (diesel, petrol, gas etc) in internal combustion engine by the means of an injector.

Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI), controlled by a microprocessor control unit, is more reliable, efficient and cost-effective as compared to the mechanical system.

The car is small in size because the students have designed it by modifying a motorcycle engine. Its special feature is that it can cover 180 kilometers distance on 1 liter petrol only.

The project is the first one to be selected in ten years for Asian cars exhibition in Singapore on February 16, 2017.

Pakistani students are excelling in the automotive field by designing special cars as part of their projects at universities.

In 2015, students of Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC), NUST manufactured a 3-wheel Prototype and 4-wheel UrbanConcept fuel-efficient eco-friendly car which was capable of covering 150km/1 liter fuel.

In 2016, students from NUST manufactured Pakistan’s first ever formula car. A group of NED students presented their formula car at Italy’s Formula SAE competition last year.
