Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik has become the first Cricketer from the country and Asia to complete seven thousand runs in T20 cricket.

Malik, 35, reached this milestone with 38-ball-51 in a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match for Barbados Tridents against Trinbago Knight Riders.

He is the only seventh batsman in history to complete 7,000 runs in the shortest format of professional cricket. West Indian Chris Gayle leads the list with 10,236 runs.

Brendon McCullum of New Zealand, David Warner of Australia, Kieron Pollard of West Indies, Brad Hodge of Australia, and Dwayne Smith of West Indies are also members of the 7,000-T20-runs club.

To Malik’s credit are also 43 half centuries in T20 cricket, which is jointly the tenth highest score in the twenty overs’ format.

The all-rounder is also the highest run scorer from Asia in T20 Cricket, next in line being India's Suresh Raina with 6872 runs.
