The wait for the identity of the sixth team to make its way into the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has finally ended.

Multan have been bought by Schon Group for a price of $5.2 million per year, as per the PSL administration.

PSL announced the news in a tweet on Thursday.

The first two edition of the PSL saw five teams competing with each other for the winner’s trophies.

Islamabad United, under the leadership of former Pakistan Test captain Misbahul Haq, won the first edition.

In PSL2, the final of which was organised in Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi under Darren Sammy’s captaincy beat Sarfraz Ahmed’s Quetta Gladiators to be crowned champions.

With the addition of the sixth team, the tournament is all set to grow with the number of matches being increased as well.

Meanwhile, according to league’s chairman Najam Sethi, four matches apiece will be played in Karachi and Lahore in the third edition; great news for Pakistani cricket fans who have been starved of international cricket in the country.
