Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo won the Best FIFA Football Player award on Monday.
Ronaldo was given the award at the inaugural Best FIFA Awards in zurich.
Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Atletico Madrid’s Antonio Griezmann were also the nominees for the prize but the award goes to Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo said on the occasion,” This achievement is incredible on a personal level. Unbelievable, I will never forget this year. I am very happy. Thank you everyone, I do not really have anything else to add. The awards i think speak for themselves.”
He was also given Ballon d’Or in December. While Carli Lloyd of the United States was named as the best female player. Leicester’s Claudio Ranieri was named as best men’s coach, ex-Germany boss Silvia Neid won the female coach awards. While Penang’s Muhammad Faiz Subri recieved the Puskas award for the best goal of 2016.
