    Bangaldesh finally ended its losing streak against Pakistan in 16 years with a 79-run victory and registered their first emphatic win after 25 consecutive losses since 1999.

    The hosts piled up 329 for six after electing to bat and then bowled out their rivals for 250 in 45.2 overs at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium.

    It was only the second win for Bangladesh over Pakistan in 48 games across Test, one-day and Twenty20 formats, and the first since 1999.

    The top scorer from the Pakistan side was Azhar Ali who scored 72 off 73 balls. Half centuries from Haris Sohail and young Muhammad Rizwan could not help Pakistan reach the target and the entire team collapsed on 250 runs.

    Winning the toss and opted to bat first, Bangladesh outclassed Pakistan bowling lineup with two their batsmen Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim scoring tons. This happened first time in the history of Bangladesh cricket that their two batsmen posted century in the same inning.

    Tamin scored 132 while Rahim made 106 runs. Skipper Shakib AlHasan posted 31 off 41 balls.

    Among Pakistan bowlers, Wahab Riaz bowled impressive spell by picking up 4 wickets and conceded 56 runs.

    Saeed Ajmal, who made return after the gap of eight months, ended wicketless giving away 74 runs in his 10 overs.

    The second match will be played at the same venue on Sunday.
