Pakistan’s celebrated young karate champion Saadi Abbas put another feather in his cap by winning a gold medal at the US Open Karate Championship in the 67kg category event at Las Vegas, USA.

The competition was held from April 15-20 where Abbas went on to beat players of Guatemala, USA, Greece and Ecuador in the preliminary rounds and semi-finals. He was involved in a tough final against home player J. Henry but Abbas managed to come out as the winner with a score of 4-2.

Abbas also won gold medals at the Commonwealth Karate Championships in 2010, which took place in South Africa and Montreal in 2013. Apart from those feats, he also won a gold medal at the 11th Asian Karate Championship which was held in China.
