Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Saturday called for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to make a quick decision about his resignation for the sake of democracy.

“We had gone to jails to save democracy. Nawaz Sharif should make a decision about his resignation by tonight,” Shah told media persons at his residence in Sukkur.

He lamented that Prime Minister Sharif had been working as a laborer on an aqama. “My job is to give a good advice and it’s up to the government to accept or reject it,” he said.

To a question, he said that Zafar Hijazi had tampered with the record of business owned by Sharif family at the behest of the federal government. “The government stands fully exposed and there is nothing to hide now.”

“Nawaz Sharif should take a wise decision and step aside, and nominate someone from his party as his replacement,” he stressed.

The opposition leader further said that criminal proceedings should begin against the prime minister.
